Chris Ellis

In March I was faced with the a problem. Most of the world was. It was COVID-19. I wanted more specific information on COVID in my local area and the available information was difficult to find.

I created a Gatsby site that displayed COVID totals on a map by county for North Carolina. I scraped the information from a local news site using Python and a Jupyter Notebook. I normalized a lot of the data, and the incoming structure kept changing.

I updated it several times a day for a few months until the sources of COVID information came more regular.
